Specialty Series Wave 12! Gossamer & Shinoa!

We’re finally here, Specialty Series Wave 12! That marks the 1 year anniversary for the Specialty Series.

I was hoping they would do something extra special for the anniversary, but they didn’t mention it sadly! This is the 12 wave of the monthly Specialty Series, where each month they release 1 Dorbz and 1 POP primarily for local stores and small businesses. I’ve mentioned this before, but it’s pretty common that Amazon themselves start selling these figures so i wouldn’t quite say their planned worked all that well. But i can’t say i mind too much, as long as i can find these figures to buy then i’m happy.

If you’ve not already pre-ordered yours then don’t worry, they usually announce these many months before release and people jump on the pre-orders. But once they hit general release they’re usually everywhere, so it shouldn’t be hard to find. The POP this time is from Looney Tunes, Funko have been ramping up their Looney Tunes POPs as it was only recently they started with the release of the Michigan J Frog and Bugs Bunny Dorbz. I’m looking forward to more in the future! The Dorbz on the other hand is the Dorbz version of the GameStop exclusive POP, there is two versions of Shinoa one with weapon and one without and i’m sure you can see which this is. Glam shots and info coming up!

Dead Men. Pirates of the Caribbean Funko POPs! Coming June!

Will this be Captain Jack’s last outing? Reminisce about the latest trip on the little boat with the upcoming Pirates of the Caribbean Funko POPs!

Let your hair down like Captain Salazar did after his curse and take a load off, definitely one of the cooler POPs we’ve seen. But what’s this, some kind of controversy? Yes some have been commenting their disbelief over the choice of Chase for this line, quoting that the “Cursed” state is his regular appearance. I guess i can kind of see where they are coming from, a Chase is normally an alternative design whereas the Chase here is what he looks like for the majority of the film. What are your thoughts?

One thing you should take note of is that no the real Golden Jack Sparrow POP isn’t THAT shiny, glam shots always make them look better than they really do. You can click here to see my article about that POP, as of writing this he is still on sale! I’m glad that they’re bringing Will Turner back, he was a very likable character in the original films. I  also would like some up to date POPs of Penelope Cruz and Keira Knightly’s characters for sure, though they have nothing to do with this film but here’s hoping. Glam shots and info coming up!

Comeback King. Pixar’s Cars 3 Funko POPs! Out Now!

It’s been a long time coming but McQueen is back with a vengeance, check out these Cars 3 Funko POPs!

So what do we have here, a new line of POPs where there is more exclusives than commons? Well it had to happen sometime i guess, here we only have 2 POPs for common release and 4 that will be exclusive. From what i know these are all out now as i’ve seen people buying them from each of the stores, but the Target one is the only one that has been online. He’s been in and out of stock a bunch of times, you can click here to see my article on him, if he’s not online just use the store stock checker to find him.

Another first we have in this line as an exclusive at Meijer! One of the many grocery stores in the USA, and one that i’ve never been to. It seems like that may change if i want this exclusive .. hmm .. i’ll think about it, the metallic McQueen is definitely more of a must have. It’s cute that with Guido he’s in a regular POP box instead of the sideways box as he’s only on two wheels, i wonder how he stands up like that, does he have a stand? There also seems to be a gap in the numbering, where’s POP No. 283? Glam shots and info coming up!

Path to Paradise. Alien Covenant Funko POPs! Coming June!

We’re going back into space for some more melt your face alien action with the upcoming Alien Covenant Funko POPs!

Just released in the cinema last week, the sequel to the 2012 hit Prometheus. Well .. i say hit, it did very well but there were quite a few critics. Regardless of a few bad reviews know i personally really enjoyed it, at the time i didn’t think they would make a sequel. But here we are 5 years later and it’s here! Now even with the word “Alien” in the title, because it is of course a prequel to the Alien films way before the time of Ellen Ripley. But don’t worry if you’re a Ripley fan, know Funko has you covered there too with an awesome Ripley Rock Candy that’s coming soon.

Keeping with the female protagonist theme from the original Alien films, Katherine Waterston is our leading lady here. And if you’ve seen the film you’ll know they took a lot of cues from Ripley here, just check out this image and you’ll see the similarities straight away (Click me)! The main two POPs in this line aren’t really exciting me, they’re fairly generic i’ll definitely have to see the film first before deciding to buy those. But i am liking the face hugger POP! Who doesn’t want a cute face hugging friend in their family? Feel free to comment with any and all opinions you have. Glam shots and info coming up!

Science Makes Sense. Rick and Morty Funko POPs! Out Now!

We all know family doesn’t make sense, but perhaps we can get somewhat closer to that with the Rick and Morty Funko POPs!

I’m sure if you’re a big Rick & Morty fan you’ve already been on the hunt for these POPs, along with the 2 Chases in this line. Every time i see more things about Rick & Morty i think hm .. maybe i should actually watch this show, i mean it could be amazing for all i know. What do you think? It certainly seems to be intensely popular, when following every kind of Funko POP that gets released you get exposed to a lot of things you wouldn’t normally see i suppose.

One of the first Chase figures in the line is Weaponized Rick, from what i know this has been criticized because they haven’t changed anything about the POP except for his mouth. I can understand where they’re coming from, though also there’s the fact that you don’t need both figures and if you get the Chase it’s just a bonus i suppose! The second Chase has much more of a variance, Mr. Meeseeks with gun has a different face, accessories, pose and skin tone. Speaking of faces i’m sure they may seem natural, but it’s very unusual for POPs to have mouths but i can definitely agree it’s necessary in some cases. Some POPs just are downright spooky with their blank expressions, so i’m liking what they did here. Glam shots and info coming up!
